CHIRUNDU District Commissioner Alfred Hamunjo is happy with the significant reduction in smuggling activities in the district.
Mr Hamunjo said in an interview that the reduction has been necessitated by collaborative efforts of the police, immigration, members of the community and various stakeholders.
He urged all stakeholders to continue working together to eradicate the vice.
“It is difficult to curb smuggling in border areas like Chirundu but it has lessened because of joint ventures. The teamwork has proved that it can help in addressing all challenges,” Mr Hamunjo said.
