ABOUT US$500,000 will be disbursed by Zambia Export Development Fund (ZEDEF) to Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) this year, which will benefit over 40 various producer associations.

The beneficiaries include floriculture, Gemstones, handicrafts and curious, primary agriculture and leather products among others.

Last year, US$ 106 250 was lent out to SMEs.
Export Development Manager Albert Halwampa said this year’s funds are expected to profit eight beneficiaries compared to the two who benefitted last year.
“The beneficiaries were few last year due to the review of the strategic plan we had undertaken. The process resulted in late disbursement of funds,” he said.
Mr Halwamba is hopeful that the fund will grow to the size of a bank to benefit as….http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
