Sinoma quarantine sparks protests

IRATE Sinoma Cement workers yesterday protested demanding to be allowed to go back to their homes after management backtracked on their earlier decision to release them from quarantine.
The workers complained that they have not been allowed to go back home and be with their families since COVID-19 broke out in March because management feared they would contract the virus.
On Friday, Ministry of Labour and Social Security officials met Sinoma Cement management and resolved to
allow all the workers who have been quarantined at the cement plant to go home.
But after the government officials left, Sinoma Cement management officials allegedly ordered the guards to lock the
gate around mid-night saying all those who had opted to leave the premises were fired. CLICK TO READ MORE
