Singer CJ back with ‘Kalankolola’

By FELIX NYAMBE
SOCIAL commentary singer CJ (Joseph Chanda Mutolo) is back with a new album Kalankolola, which was recorded at KB’s reputable K-Amy.
Since his arrival two years ago with the album titled Umutwe Wamunobe, CJ has been up and about cementing his place on the local music scene.
Although he came to prominence after recording the signature tune Okongola for Muvi TV’s reality show Ready 4 Marriage Season 4, the singer has been rocking the local stages lately.
His maiden videos of Umutwe Wamunobe and Mukalantasha Nga Nafwa, were some of the most played clips on most channels on local television channels.
Inspired by the once Jonathan Chibesa-led Glorious Band of the Isambo Lyamfwa song, CJ, 24, has been relishing some social commentary songs that always make a difference in someone’s life.
“It is not always the love songs that bring people together. As youths, we must strive to sing about real issues which affect every day,” CJ said.
His new album, recorded at Jerry Fingaz’s Flat-line Studios, contains songs such as the title-track, which features singers Vice-Versa and Lombe Musonda, Patali Nafuma, Bible-inspired Yahweh, Winenuka, Life Yali ba Funny and Chichetekelo.
Meanwhile, CJ has made an appeal to the corporate world to help him produce and market his album.
