NIGERIAN gospel musician Sinach is expected in the country today ahead of her two shows tomorrow and Sunday at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka and Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola respectively.
The Lusaka concert will be opened by performances from Minister Mulilo, Petty and Chanda while Musama, MP Nakwe Nakwe and Gabby will perform at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. Other local artistes expected to perform include Ephraim, Carol Nyimba, Abel Chungu, Peace Preachers and Kings Malembe Malembe.
Christian Arts Promotions (CHAPRO) marketing assistant and promotions manager Dorcas Chishimba told the Weekend Mail that Sinach has confirmed that she will in the country today.
“Sinach will be arriving in the country on Friday at noon while her band will arrive on Thursday [yesterday],” Dorcas told the Weekend Mail on Tuesday.
Attention may be focused on Sinach, but Chapro is also putting premium on the local artistes who will be performing.
“Even at this Sinach concert, we thought of embracing upcoming local artistes to promote their music and to create a platform for them,” she said.
“Every artiste started as an upcoming and every musician deserves an opportunity; we as Chapro have seen it as a way of motivating them.”
Dorcas says they expected both Heroes and Levy Mwanawasa to be full.
