Signing of Bill set for Tuesday

STEVEN MVULA, Lusaka
AS ANOTHER New Year gift to Zambians after the banning of casualisation, President Lungu will on Tuesday assent to the Constitution Bill at a special ceremony to be held at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
The ceremony will open to the public at 11:00 hours and a guard of honour will take position at 12:30 hours.
The Bill, passed by Parliament, contains most clauses Zambians submitted to various constitution review commissions.
These articles include the now famous 50 percent-plus-one vote threshold for someone to become president of Zambia and the vice-president as a running mate clause.
Other clauses include the dual nationality that has excited those in the diaspora and the date for general elections.
