THERE is a reason why Shepolopolo coach Bruce Mwape has included Green Buffaloes striker Theresa Chewe in his provisional 27-member team preparing for the Tokyo Games.
Chewe can be ruthless.
Over the weekend, she scored all the four goals as the Green Buffaloes women’s team opened up a two-point lead at the top of the Super Division Women’s League with a 4-0 win over National Assembly.
But despite Chewe getting four goals, Buffaloes coach Charles Haalubono believes he still has work to do upfront following the departure of Rachael Nachula to FC Zaragoza in Spain and Mary Mwakapila to Hapoel Beershe’eva in Israel.
Haalubono says most of the players have been forced to play in unfamiliar positions to fill up the gaps left by Mwakapila, Nachula as well as goalkeeper Hazel Nali, who is also with Hapoel Beershe’eva, and Barbra Banda, who is campaigning with Chinese side Shanghai Shengli.
