LINDA NYONDO, Lusaka
NATIONAL Union for Public and Private Educators of Zambia (NUPPEZ) says comprehensive sexuality education which has been introduced in schools will enrich learners with knowledge on sexual and reproductive health.

NUPEZ public relations manager Ngoza Sakala said in an interview on Monday that comprehensive sexuality education is important for adolescents because they will make informed decisions before indulging in sex.

“We are of the view that teaching pupils comprehensive sexuality education from upper basic to senior secondary will help reduce the numbers of alarming teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections,’’ she said.
Ms Sakala said it is important that learners are given knowledge, skills, positive attitudes and values which will help them apply life skills.
