POLICE in Mpika have arrested a 24-year-old sex worker for allegedly stealing K32,000 from her client.

Muchinga Province deputy police commissioner Charles Mbita said in an interview yesterday that the money was allegedly stolen on Wednesday between 01:00 hours and 02:00 hours in Site and Service Township.
Dr Mbita said Luckson Mwewa, 53, reported that K32,000 had allegedly been stolen from his house by Angela Chiwala of Chitulika village whom he had picked from a bar to spend a night with.
“She sneaked out of the house after he fell asleep. When he woke up in the morning, he found she had gone with his money,” he said.
Dr Mbita said police recovered K12, 000 from Ms Chiwala out of K32,000 after the officers apprehended her.
Meanwhile, police in Lusaka have picked a body of an unidentified man near the National Research Institute on Kenneth Kaunda International Airport road.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said in a statement yesterday that the body of the man, aged between 18 and 25, was picked on Sunday around 15:00 hours.
Ms Katongo said the body was discovered by a member of the public near the wall fence of the National Research Institute.
“The body was discovered with partially burnt clothes and had injuries on the head,” she said.
Ms Katongo said police suspect foul play.
She said the body is in the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) mortuary awaiting identification, post-mortem and burial.
Ms Katongo urged members of the public who could be missing a relative to visit UTH and identify the body.
