Sevens squad to compete in 7 tourneys


THE Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU) has approved a programme for the national sevens team to compete in seven international tournaments this year.

According to a statement posted on Zambia Sevens Facebook page yesterday, some of the tournaments that Zambia will compete in include next month’s Royal Bafokeng in South Africa and the Victoria Falls Sevens in Zimbabwe.

After the two events, the Musonda Kaminsa-tutored side will then head to Australia for the Commonwealth Games where they have been drawn in Pool C alongside world champions New Zealand, Canada and Kenya. The team will also compete in the Zambia International Sevens and Maseru Sevens, both set for September.
