Sata arrives in New York

PRESIDENT Sata arrived here yesterday to attend the 69th United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
The President, who is accompanied by First Lady Christine Kaseba, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Bob Sichinga and his special assistant for press and public relations George Chellah, arrived shortly before midnight local time.
Mr Sata was received by Zambia’s permanent representative to the UN Mwaba Kasese-Bota at the JFK International Airport in New York State.
Others who received President Sata at the New York Palace Hotel are  Zambia’s ambassador to the United States (US) Palan Mulonda, Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba, Minister of Community Development, Mother and Child Health Emerine Kabanshi and Minister of Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Mwansa Kapeya.
President Sata is expected to address the UN General Assembly on Friday where the Ebola disease outbreak is expected to take centre stage
President Sata is also expected to participate in the special session of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD)
Dr Kaseba was expected to be honoured as an ambassador of e-Health during an investiture ceremony yesterday.
