ANGELA CHISHIMBA, New York
SAMSUNG Electronics has unveiled the new Galaxy Note 7 phone during the global launch that took place here, London and Rio, De Janeiro Brazil, simultaneously.
From refined craftsmanship and premium materials, to a unique, symmetric edge design, the Galaxy Note7 has set a new standard for large-screen smartphones.
The Galaxy Note7 is water-resistant and provides top-of-the-line security options, combining Samsung Knox with biometric authentication including iris scanning, as well as immersive entertainment features.
“Galaxy Note7 strikes a balance between work and play, enabling people to do more than what they thought possible on a smartphone.
“The Galaxy Note7 combines productivity, entertainment with strong security features. Powering a robust ecosystem, it is the ideal device for those who want to achieve more in life,” said DJ Koh, President of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics.
“Life now moves faster than ever, so we created the Galaxy Note7 to help users get things done more easily wherever, whenever,” Mr Koh said.
The phone has an enhanced S Pen which is more than just a writing tool – it is the gateway to getting more done efficiently and accurately.
Galaxy Note7 provides heightened security and privacy options, with highly advanced biometric authentication, including fingerprint scanner and iris scanning technology, new to the Note series. The Galaxy Note7 offers more authentication options that can be used interchangeably depending on how people use their phones, wherever they are, or whatever they are doing.
The other feature on the phone is the curved QHD Super AMOLED screen which delivers a bold and immersive picture.
“It is ready to stream HDR video, enabling a cinema-like experience including super bright colours and incredibly deep black, which ensures users get the full experience that the film-maker intended,” Mr Koh said.
The phone will be on the market from August 19, 2016.
