Samfya township roadworks advance

WORKS on the upgrading of 21.8 kilometres of township roads in Samfya district in Luapula Province to bituminous standard at a cost of K95 million have advanced with residents praising the government for delivering on its campaign promise.

Samfya district commissioner Nason Bwalya said works on the upgrade of the 21.8 kilometres stretch of roads in Samfya, started in 2014 and is being executed by China Civil Engineering Zambia Limited.
Samfya district commissioner Nason Bwalya said in an interview that the upgrading of township roads in the area had advanced with 80 percent of works done.
“The construction of roads in Samfya is at 80 percent and the works are expected to be completed soon,” he said.
