Salary talks still on

THE Zambia Union of Government and Allied Workers has urged government employees to be patient as negotiations for improved salaries are ongoing.
Union president Muyaywa Kabisa said in a statement that rumours circulating that negotiations have been concluded, and the union signed zero percent salary increment, should be ignored.
“No collective agreement has been signed as we speak. Our colleagues should not be misled by the information circulating,” he said.
Mr Kabisa said negotiations for improved salaries and conditions of service for unionised government employees for 2019 are still on-going.
He said negotiations for the 2019 salaries and conditions of service are taking place under very difficult economic conditions.
