RTSA work to reduce accidents

LINDA NYONDO, Lusaka
THE ROAD Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) is optimistic the country will record a reduction in the number of road traffic accidents next year.
RTSA public relations manager Fred Mubanga said the anticipated reduction in the number of road traffic accidents is due to a number of measures instituted by the agency in partnership with other stakeholders.
Installation of speed limit cameras and increased road blocks mounted in various parts of the country are some of the measures instituted.
Mr Mubanga said in partnership with the ministries of Transport and Communication and Home Affairs, RTSA has deployed officers to conduct regular patrols on highways to ensure compliance to traffic rules and regulations by motorists.
“Minister of Home Affairs Steven Kampyongo and his counterpart at Transport and Communication Brian Mushimba will from time to time join the patrols.
“We look forward to end the year on a good note because we have now done a lot of work to ensure the country records a reduction in the number of road traffic accidents http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
