RTSA proposes to ban night travel

THE Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) has proposed to introduce a Statutory Instrument (SI) to ban the movement of public passenger service vehicles and trucks at night to help avert road traffic accidents.
RTSA head of public relations Fredrick Mubanga said the proposal is in view of the recent increase in the number of fatal road traffic accidents involving public service vehicles and trucks.
Mr Mubanga said in an interview yesterday that the new SI will regulate all public service vehicles for goods and passengers to move at night.
