RTSA, police launch safe corridor

SOKO

NANCY SIAME, Lusaka
THE Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) and the Zambia Police Service have launched a ‘safe corridor’ on the road between Chilanga in Lusaka Province and Kabwe in Central Province.
RTSA has also donated assorted equipment to the police to help strengthen the enforcement of the road traffic rules on the safe corridor.
Speaking during the handover ceremony at Zambia Police headquarters in Lusaka recently, RTSA director and chief executive officer Zindaba Soko said Government is committed to reducing road traffic-related deaths by 50 percent by 2020.
This is contained in a statement released by RTSA senior public relations manager Frederick Mubanga yesterday.
Mr Soko said to achieve this, there is need for road safety interventions on accident-prone roads such as the road between Chilanga and Kabwe.
