Rolling out goat empowerment

SOME of the goats handed over to Afri Farmers’ Cooperative in Kapete village, Chongwe.

ALVIN CHIINGA, Chongwe
ABOUT 5km north of Chongwe town, off the Great East Road in Kapete village in Chief Bunda Bunda’s chiefdom, a horde of youths are celebrating and ululating.
The jubilation has been going on since a truckload of goats from the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries reached this rural outpost.
Normally, the area would be without any activity, as most of the youths in this predominantly farming community would be busy going about their business.
Today, the story is different here because the youth are officially receiving goats from Government, through the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries.
“This is what we as youths have been looking forward to: empowerment,” Tiwonenji Sakala, one of the beneficiaries in Chongwe, said beaming with happiness.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
