THE rapid growth in shopping malls is causing a strain on Centre managers who are spending their time worrying about tenant retention, says an expert.
Diaspora Support Initiative (DSI) president Logan Nyasulu said the grade-A-commercial retail space comprising of shopping Centres’ has increased to 300, 000 square meters in 2015 from 105,000square metres in 2005.
“This has made it cheaper for retailers to rent. As a result of the increase in shopping malls, several grade-A tenants have relocated from one mall to the other based on renegotiated rental rates.
