HONE SIAME, Kitwe
GOVERNMENT has allocated 30,000 hectares of land to retrenched miners in the Copperbelt Province to enable them to engage in agriculture.
The allocation of the land is in line with the government’s diversification agenda.
This follows the directive by President Lungu last year that the former miners should be offered land to venture into agriculture as their alternative source of income.
National Ex-Miners and Allied Workers Association of Zambia (NEMAWAZ) president Taulo Chewe said in an interview in Kitwe on Sunday that state land in Lufwanyama, Chingola, Luanshya and Mufulira has been secured for the former miners.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm
