Renard eyes Kalaba, Sunzu reunion

VICTOR KUMWENDA, Lusaka
ZAMBIA skipper Rainford Kalaba and defender Stopilla Sunzu are top summer transfer target for France Ligue 1 side FC Lille.
And Lille are also keen on luring FC Lorient Ghana midfielder Jordan Ayew to bolster the squad.
According to a source close to both Lille coach Herve Renard and Kalaba, the French Ligue 1 outfit are willing to discuss the possibility of the Chipolopolo skipper making a summer move to Europe.
But it is believed the 28-year-old is reluctant to return to France.
Kalaba had a one-year stint with Ligue 1 side Olympique Nice in 2006 before joining Portuguese outfit Sporting Braga two years later.
Mazembe, who are in the CAF Champions League group stage, are also not willing to release the player because they want him to assist the team win the fifth continental title.
The source, however, said Sunzu, who campaigns for Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, is elated to reunite with the former Chipolopolo trainer.
Sunzu joined Shanghai Shenhua from French side FC Sochaux in a US$1.2 million transfer deal in January this year.
The 26-year old has scored one goal in 13 appearances.
Renard has also invited under-20 strikers Patson Daka and Patrick Ngoma for trials.
Daka and Ngoma are expected to leave for France tomorrow.
The duo was part of the national team that lost 1-2 to Namibia in the 2016 Rwanda African Nations Championship qualifier in Windhoek on Sunday.
Renard is also keen on extending Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama’s contract at the club.
