Register with ZDA, entrepreneurs told

THE Zambia Development Agency

TRYNESS TEMBO, Lusaka
THE Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has called on entrepreneurs to register with the agency to start accessing the services being offered to the business community.
Currently, ZDA has a division solely devoted to the growth of small and medium-scale enterprises, with the responsibility of facilitating the provision of efficient, effective and sustainable demand driven entrepreneurship and business development services to micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs) in Zambia, to enhance employment and wealth creation.
ZDA enterprise development specialist Anastazia Muleya said the division provides services such as business development, marketing, accounting, product design, development, business linkages in form of market linkages and financial linkages.
Ms Muleya also said the division is providing access to markets, tenders, marketing material, capacity building through training, mentorship, business plans, advocacy, grants and proposal preparation, among others.
“The agency’s mandate includes facilitation of the economic development of Zambia by promoting investment and competitiveness of businesses and promoting exports from the country,” she said in a statement availed to the Daily Mail on Monday.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Commerce Trade and Industry Raymond Mpundu said Government is keen to help grow MSMEs in the country because they are important in the development agenda and can significantly contribute to employment creation.
Mr Mpundu said Government realises the challenge of lack of skills, information and general productive resources that can facilitate growth of businesses of MSMEs.
