CHIEF Sipatunyana of the Tonga people in Kalomo and Zimba districts in Southern Province says child marriages need special attention and has thanked World Vision Zambia for sensitising traditional leaders on children’s rights.
The chief said it is unfortunate that early marriages have remained prevalent in most rural parts of the country resulting in most women dropping out of school.
He said this yesterday when World Vision Zambia paid a courtesy call on him to announce the closure of the Area Development Programme (ADP) it has been running for 16 years in Kalomo.READ MORE
