MULWANDA LUPIYA, Ndola
THE National Rugby League (NRL) today returns to action after three weeks of recess with champions Red Arrows squaring it off against Diggers in a top of the bill encounter at Nkana West Rugby Fields in Kitwe.
With leaders Kitwe Playing Field (KPF) out of action, Arrows will be hoping for victory in this Week 14 match.
DIGGERS v ARROWS
This match pits the reigning champions and former champions.
Second-placed Arrows, the reigning champions, have 43 points, 13 behind KPF but the former have three matches in hand.
The airmen have enough ammunition in Edward Mumba, Terry Kaushiku and Simon Kapindu to leave Kitwe with maximum points.
Last season, Arrows battered Diggers 21-0 in Lusaka but lost 6-5 away.
Diggers, the 2012 kings, buoyed by last Saturday’s success at the Roan Sevens Championship will be a hard nut to crack in front of their fans.
Arrows are fourth on the table with 39 points.
EAGLES v MUFULIRA A
Green Eagles aspirations of finishing in the top four will be put to test when Mufulira A come calling.
Eagles are occupying the third position with 41 points and do not look like a team that could lose to the visitors.
Elsewhere, Green Buffaloes welcome Nkwazi, Kansanshi host Nchanga, Konkola battle it out with ‘Powerhouse’ Lusaka, Mufulira B and Ndola Wanderers renew their rivalry.
Chibuluma lie in wait for Roan in Kalulushi.
