Red Arrows defend Busange trophy

RED Arrows on Saturday retained the Owen Busange Sevens Championship after edging Mufulira at Konkola Rugby Club in Chililabombwe to

bag the fourth trophy this season.
The airmen pocketed K8,000.
The other trophies in the Arrows cabinet are the Zambia Rugby Union 10, Mopani Copper Mines 15s and Kitwe Playing Fields American tournament.
Scrumhalf Israel Kalumba, Terry Kaushiku, Simon Kapindu, Edward Mumba and Kabwe Musonda were the architects of the win after posting a try apiece.
Kaushiku and player-of-the-tournament Kapindu went on to add a brace of conversions each.
Mufulira scored four tries courtesy of Melvin Banda’s brace while Alinani Chisha and Mike Masabo contributed one each.
Patson Kasonde converted once for Mufulira to walk away with K5,000.
On their way to the final, Arrows trounced Chibuluma 52-0 in the quarter-final and Green Eagles 12-7 in the last four while Mufulira edged Air Force 15-7 in the quarter-final and battered Diggers 24-10 to storm the final.
