NUMEROUS houses in several townships in Lusaka were yesterday flooded due to incessant rains on Friday prompting occupants to abandon their homes and leave their unquantified household goods damaged.

In Mtendere township, Mailesi Ziba, a wife and mother of four children said it is by God’s grace that her house did not collapse after the rains continuously pounded their structure which is near Kalikiliki stream.
A Daily Mail crew that visited the township following a tip-off from Mtendere ward 30 councillor Watson Mtonga found Mrs Ziba trying to salvage property from her submerged house.
