Rain to continue pounding

KAPALA CHISUNKA, Lusaka
OVER 200 houses are flooded in Kanyama Township’s Mbasela following the continuous rains that characterised Lusaka last week.

And heavy rains, flash floods and floods will continue over Western, Southern, Lusaka, Central, Copperbelt and North-Western Provinces up to Tuesday, the Zambia Meteorological Department has warned.

Since Monday last week, many people have been struggling to drain water from their houses because the whole area is flooded. Some tenants have relocated while landlords who live in the area have no option but to remain in their flooded homes.
Judith Zapasi, a resident of Kanyama Township, was roused from her slumber last week because of water in her bedroom.
