CIVIL society organisations (CSOs) have called on Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation Limited (ZAFFICO) to publish the revenues collected from the sale of mukula logs to ensure transparency and accountability.
The CSOs include Centre for Trade Policy and Development, Civil Society for Poverty Reduction, the Consumer Unity and Trust Society International, and ActionAid.
In a joint statement, the organisations said there is need for ZAFFICO to be more transparent and inform the nation on how it conducts the auction for mukula logs, name the recipients and the account in which the revenue realised from the commodity is deposited.
