NALISHEBO NAMAIKO, Lusaka
THE Poultry Association of Zambia (PAZ) has advised Government to put in place measures that will ensure transit permit holders of poultry products do not offload in the country to protect the industry.
Recently, Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) intercepted a truck with smuggled chicken pieces worth K260,000 in taxes claims.
The consignment was declared as transit goods going to a neighbouring country when in fact it was destined for Lusaka.
PAZ executive director Dominic Chanda said it is important to intensify security at the borders and ensure regular mobile checking.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
