Prohibitive Examinations Council of Zambia fees

Dear editor,
I AM a school-leaver who lost my school certificate.

I was shocked when I went to the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) and was told that the cost of replacing a lost school certificate is K900.
This is not only exorbitant, but also prohibitive as the majority of ordinary Zambians cannot afford this amount.
I appeal to Minister of General Education Dennis Wanchinga to intervene and direct ECZ to revisit this amount to allow many ordinary Zambians access tertiary education using certificates for which they worked hard at secondary school.
