Primitive cooking angers President Lungu

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu was yesterday upset when he found out that Chama Boarding Secondary School is using firewood to cook food for pupils when the school has electric pots.

The President, who arrived at the school at 11:00 hours, and decided to inspect the kitchen, could not believe that the school is using firewood to power its kitchen.

“Using firewood is primitive. In this time and age when we are talking about climate change, we cannot be cutting down trees indiscriminately,” President Lungu said.
He said that he would immediately provide money to the school authorities for upgrading the school’s electricity transformer to make power available.
