OVER 40, 000 market traders and cooperatives have benefitted from the Presidential Empowerment Initiative Fund (PEIF) and about K12 million has been disbursed to boost their businesses.
Fund manager Samuel Luneta said the initiative, which first targeted marketeers, has now diversified to empowering other groups of society.
Other beneficiaries are churches, youth groups, schools and women clubs.
Mr Luneta said in response to a query yesterday that PEIF provides innovative solutions and services that help vulnerable groups overcome barriers.
