President gets rousing welcome

STEVEN MVULA, Lusaka
PRESIDENT Lungu yesterday stirred Lusaka’s Chawama Township into heightened excitement when he paid the teeming township an impromptu visit after attending a church service at St. Regina’s Catholic Church.
“One hundred percent! One hundred percent!” they chanted to assure Mr Lungu that they are solidly behind him as he inspected works on the drainage system.
At the Patriotic Front (PF) constituency office, President Lungu revealed that an opposition political party has been deliberately defying police advice concerning the Public Order Act to gain sympathy.
“Please notify the police of your meetings. Don’t dare the police so that you get support from the outside community.
“The outside community does not vote,” President Lungu said.
“I don’t want anyone to die for me. Development has no finishing line. The PF will be there this year, in 2021, 2026 and so on,” President Lungu said.
