MISS Inter-continental Zambia Precious Ng’oma is representing the country at the Miss Intercontinental World final being held at Sunrise Grand Select Crystal Bay in Hurghada, Egypt.
The pageant was moved from December 21 last year to January 10 – 26. The pageant will see over 70 participants across the global battle against each other for the title currently held by Heilymar Rosario of Puerto Rico.
Precious, who is Vitenge Nivatu vice-president, told the Weekend Mail that she is ready to represent the country at the pageant.
She shared that while in Egypt, she is going to promote Zambia’s tourist attractions as her contribution towards the development of the country.
“As a model, I will raise the Zambian flag high at an international level as it has always been one of my life-long dreams,” she said. “I am very happy to see my childhood dream being released and I will do my level best to represent Zambia well.”
Precious thanked the many Zambians for supporting her by voting for her as. Zambia is currently ranking number five out of the over 70 countries participating.
Meanwhile, Precious says upon her return, she will hold a fundraising fashion show for Mumba Children’s Project of Mpongwe.
Precious, who is brand ambassador for the Mumba Children’s Project, says she wants to help towards the building of a school for the under-privileged children in Mpongwe on the Copperbelt.
She has also encouraged upcoming models to invest in education because they will need it even as they pursue their career.
“School is also key,” she says. “National pageants require for their models to possess a certain level of intellect, so models should strive to be educated and highly informed on national and world-wide issues.”
Precious is former Miss Personality for the Miss Zambia-Zimbabwe 2013 and a model under R&G Events. She has modeled for a number of local fashion designers and is director for the Miss UNZA pageant.
