Power regret Barclays Cup outage

MWILA NTAMBI, Kitwe
POWER Dynamos management is disappointed with the team’s exit from the Barclays Cup.
Power bowed out of the Barclays Cup on Saturday after losing 5-4 on penalties to Green Buffaloes after a goalless draw in regulation time at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Club secretary Ricky Mamfunda said in a statement in Kitwe yesterday that the team’s focus has shifted to securing a place in next year’s Africa inter-club competitions.
“We may be out of the Barclays Cup but we shall fight to the end in order to play continental football next year,” Mamfunda said.
He urged Power fans to remain calm as the executive conducts a post-mortem of the team’s performance.
Mamfunda said a comprehensive statement on the performance of the team would be issued soon.
“We still have six games before the end of the 2015 season and the complexion of the league standings will change after Week 30 games,” he said.
Power are third on the Super Division log with 47 points, eight behind leaders Zesco United and two adrift second-placed Zanaco.
Power won the Barclays Cup in 2009 and 2011.
