POWER Dynamos yesterday climbed to the summit of the MTN Super League after beating Mutondo Stars in a tightly contested Kitwe derby while Zesco United dropped to second position after drawing 1-1 with Green Buffaloes in Lusaka.
“This is what we wanted.
Yes, we have gone on top but that means we have to work even harder. We have to raise the standards to remain at the top. There will be no easy games. We won’t look at the negatives of going into the international break while we have the momentum. We will focus on the positives because even our rivals are also going for the same break,” Power coach Osward Mutapa said in a post-match interview.
Both Power and Zesco have 22 points but the former have a better goal aggregate.
Power have scored 16 and conceded six while Zesco have shaken the net 12 times and allowed seven.
After a barren first half, Power made it count immediately after resumption in this Week 11 fixture.
