Police to get 12,000 houses

PRESIDENT Lungu is today expected to break the ground for the construction of 12,000 housing units at a cost of US$320 million for officers.
This is contained in a statement released by Ministry of Home Affairs public relations officer Moses Suwali in Lusaka yesterday.
Mr Suwali said the programme, which was earlier postponed, will take place near Chelstone police camp starting from 08:30 hours.
The housing project is expected to further reduce the housing deficit among men and women in uniform and civilian staff in the security wing.
“Note that the invitation cards and programmes still remain valid. President Lungu is expected to break the ground for the massive construction of in excess of 12,000 housing units for officers under the Ministry of Home Affairs,” he said.
