KITWE town clerk Bonwell Luanga says the local authority has started designing plans for a new industrial city which will be located across the Kafue River.
This follows the completion of the works on Mufuchani Bridge.
The bridge, which was funded by a World Bank at a cost of K63 million, has been completed and will soon be commissioned.
Mr Luanga said the local authority has started working on the plan and it will soon move on-site to work on the roads to open up the area for development.
