‘Plan prudently for districts’

MALUPENGA

BUTTYSON KANDIMBA, Solwezi
NORTH-WESTERN Province permanent secretary Amos Malupenga has implored stakeholders in Solwezi district to take note of the fundamental principles on which President Lungu’s administration based its decision to create Kalumbila and Mushindamo districts as they debate the formation of new district boundaries.
Mr Malupenga said President Lungu decided to declare Kalumbila and Mushindamo as districts because of his commitment to upgrading Solwezi town into a city.
He said Solwezi is the second largest district in the country and it is difficult for the Government to effectively and efficiently share resources across the area.
Mr Malupenga was speaking in Solwezi yesterday during a delimitation consultative meeting to discuss the boundaries for Solwezi, Kalumbila and Mushindamo districts.
