Phobia for immigration officers leads woman to suicide

A NEWLY married Congolese woman who entered Zambia through Nchelenge district has committed suicide apparently for fear of being arrested because she did not have immigration documents.
The woman, who has only been identified as Banza, entered Zambia through Ntoto village and got married to Kaluba Matepa, 58, in Chieftainess Kanyembo’s area in March this year.
Luapula Province Commissioner of Police Elias Chushi said in an interview yesterday that Banza was found hanging to a tree in the bush on Friday around 17:00 hours.
Mr Matepa told the police that his wife was Congolese but she did not have immigration documents. After getting married, the couple decided to go to a certain farm within Nchelenge district to do some work with a view to raising money for transport and http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
