CHIPOLOPOLO striker Moses Phiri is the 2020-2021 season golden boot winner after netting 13 goals for Zanaco.
Despite not scoring against Red Arrows on Sunday, Phiri still finished two goals clear of Green Buffaloes forward Friday Samu.
Zanaco battled to a barren draw with Arrows. Towering Samu would have overtaken Phiri had he netted a hat-trick, but he failed to also find the target in his team’s 1-all draw against Prison Leopards. Phiri was at some point neck-to-neck with clubmate and skipper Rodgers Kola for the race for the golden boot. But Kola ended the season with 12 goals. The other player who finished with a double figure for the season is Nigerian David Obashi of Prison Leopards. Obashi, who was on target for the Kabwe side, ended with 14 goals, while Anos Tembo and last season’s top scorer James Chamanga of Green Eagles and Red Arrows respectively finished with 11 goals apiece.
