Petauke gets K2.1m for maternity annexes

DARLINGTON MWENDABAI, Petauke
GOVERNMENT has allocated K2.1 million towards the construction of five maternity annexes and mothers shelters in Petauke in Eastern Province to ensure no woman dies while giving birth in the district.

Petauke district health director Charles Fanaka said in an interview that the construction of the health facilities demonstrates Government’s commitment to eradicating maternal mortality rate countrywide.
