Petauke farmers demand K2.8m from Simbila

OVER 200 farmers in Petauke are demanding to be paid K2.8 million for the maize they supplied in August to a Lusaka-based company, Simbila Supply Company Limited, through the Petauke District Co-operative Union (PDCU).

The farmers on Monday dragged PDCU chairperson Jonathan Banda to the office of Petauke District Commissioner Velenasi Moyo, who advised them to report the matter to police.

The farmers thereafter camped at the police station as their representatives had a long meeting with police, PDCU officials as well as a Simbila Supply representative.
