WE HAVE seen an initiative by mobile phone companies and other organisations, including Zoona, mounting booths in townships. These booths have contributed a great deal to service provision as people are able to buy airtime, deposit and withdraw money or send and receive cash.
This has greatly improved financial inclusion and enabled the largely unbanked population to have access to fi-nancial services.
I would like to appeal to DStv and other pay television stations to emulate mobile companies by rolling out booths in communities so that people can be paying for their services easily.
This will help bridge the distance people cover to pay for DStv and television levy.
The visibility of DStv, Kwese and other television stations may help them capture more clients.
