By CHAMBO NG’UNI
POLICE in Kabwe have arrested a pastor of Divine Embassy for allegedly raping a congregant.
Central Province commissioner of police Standwell Lungu said in an interview yesterday that the incident happened last Friday in Kabwe’s Railways township.
Mr Lungu identified the suspect as Apostle Lubona Chikwanda Matibini, an Overseer of Divine Embassy.
“The information that we have is that this pastor allegedly raped a member of his church in Railways township. This matter was brought to our attention some days ago,” Mr Lungu said.
He explained that Matibini allegedly raped the woman on August 22, 2014.
Mr Lungu said after some church members heard what the clergyman had allegedly done, the woman set a trap for him last Friday when he again attempted to have sex with her.
“After Mr Matibini allegedly undressed, the woman excused herself and she went to open the door for other church members who were outside and Mr Matibini was only found in his boxer shorts,” Mr Lungu said
He said church members reported the matter to Chowa Police Station.
