Pastor put on K260,000 theft defence

A PASTOR of Lusaka who allegedly swindled a widow out of K260,000 has been put on his defence after the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court ruled that there is sufficient evidence linking him to the stolen money.
Magistrate Felix Kaoma said the evidence presented before court linked Inter-denomination Jesus Ministry overseer John Simfukwe to the alleged theft.
The 39-year-old Simfukwe, of North Gardens in Lusaka, is charged with theft by agent.
Between August 16, 2016 and August 17 this year, Simfukwe allegedly stole K260,000 from Mildred Chikwato, who entrusted the pastor with her late husband’s retirement money.
