EIGHT Namibian tour operators intend to partner with their Zambian counterparts in marketing the tourism destinations in the two countries which will in turn contribute to economic growth.
Namibian delegation leader Hellena Kapiya, who is also Air Namibia sales and marketing executive, said the visit to Zambia is tourism-related and hoped that tour operators from both countries will dialogue to exchange best tourism practices.
“I hope as tour operators, we will be visiting each other so that we help each other with marketing the tourism destinations to boost the tourism sector which will in turn improve the countries’ economy,†Ms Kapiya said.
She said at a media breakfast on Saturday that the team is impressed with their experience and will take back the message home about Zambia’s potential and encourage Namibians to visit.
Ms Kapiya commended Zambians for the warm hospitality and peace that is prevailing in the country saying that it is a vital tool in increasing tourist arrivals for the country.
She described their trip as worthwhile for their knowledge about Zambia’s tourism packages and the hospitability by the locals.
The group was on a five-day visit of Zambia on a first-time encounter educational tour and have since returned to their country.
