Parmalat demands K200,000 from Spar

PARMALAT Zambia Limited is demanding over K200,000 from Spar Livingstone for milk and other dairy products it supplied to the retail company. Apart from K227,319.29, the diary company also seeks the Lusaka High Court to order Spar Livingstone to pay interest on the money owed plus other reliefs it may deem fit. In a statement of claim, Parmalat has cited Spar Livingstone and the company’s managing director, Rhoshan Parbhoo, as first and second defendants. The plaintiff submits that it trades as Lactalis Zambia Limited and specialises in production and distribution of dairy products and fruits. The complainant submits that Mr Parbhoo was at all material times Spar Livingstone managing director.
