Over 47 pupils fall pregnant in Kaputa

OVER 47 pupils in Northern Province’s Kaputa district have fallen pregnant while eight have been married off this year.
And Kaputa district has a shortage of 101 teachers out of the needed 410.
District education board secretary Peter Musumali said between 2004 and 2015, the district recorded 98 early pregnancies and 56 early marriages.
“Pregnancies among girls in the district from January to date stands at 47, and most of these are Grade Eights and Nines. In 2014 and 2015, we recorded 98 pregnancies and 56 early marriages,” Mr Musumali said in an interview.READ MORE
