IF THERE is any more evidence needed that Zambian soccer is at one of its lowest ebbs, then the latest list of the 34 players in the running for the African-player-of-the-year award provides some of it.
No single Zambian player is featuring with the closest name you are going to find on the list being only that of She-polopolo coach Bruce Mwape, who is in the running for women’s coach-of- the- year award.
But make no mistake, even with the strides the women’s game has made in recent years, it is not the most coveted award.
Even Mwape himself will tell you that he would prefer to be on the other list for the men’s coach-of-the-year, which features former Chipolopolo coach and now Morocco boss Herve Renard.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
